Your Rent. Your Say.

We want to hear your views on:

• council rents – and if you think they are good value for money,
• sett​​ing rents from April 2027, and
• possible small changes to the way rents are calculated for houses and flats, to help make rents fairer.

The amount that council rents can be increased by is set by the Welsh Government. A decision has not yet been made about how much this will be from next April.

Most tenants who replied to last year’s rent survey said council rents were good value for money. They also supported our plans to continue to improve and adapt our existing properties, as well as building good quality new homes.

With this in mind, we propose setting our rents at the full amount that the Welsh Government will allow, as long as these rents remain affordable in line with the Joseph Rowntree assessment.
